Celebration of Italian Heritage

As a continuation of our commitment to educating our students about cultural an ethnic diversity and awareness. Rod Paige Middle School celebrated Italian Heritage Month during the month of October. During the month of October students recognized the contributions and achievements of Italian-Americans. Over 26 million Americans of Italian descent currently reside in the U.S. — making up America’s seventh largest ethnic group. Italian-American Heritage Month celebrates the distinguished cultural contributions of Americans with Italian lineage.

Below are pictures of mosaics of the Leaning Tower of Pisa (located in the Providence of Pisa, Italy) and green, red, and white garland strands hanging in the cafeteria that that the 6th and 6th grade art classes created in honor of our Italian Heritage celebration. The cafeteria even got involved by serving students an Italian staple food…..Pizza!!!
