RPMS Teacher, Ms. Laura Reynolds, Lawrence County School District Teacher of the Year

Ms. Laura Reynolds is a certified teacher of 24 years. She is certified in the areas of Elem. Education (K-3)-116, Elem. Education (4-6)-117, Kindergarten-4 (K-4)-152, Reading (K-12)-174, Social Studies (7-12)-192, Middle School Math (7-8)-901, and Middle School Science (7-8)-904. Ms. Reynolds has served in many different area of teaching. During her teaching career, Ms. Reynolds has experienced much success in the classroom. Most notably, during the 2020-2021 school year, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, she successfully produced 46% proficiency on the 2021 7th grade Math MAAP state test, with five of her students attaining perfect scores, for the current 2021-2022 school year.

Ms. Reynolds serves on our school leadership team and our events committee.  She is also one of the districts SIT coordinators and makes sure that our community is informed and has a voice in how federal funds are spent at our school. Ms. Reynolds is the type of teacher that is always willing to go above and beyond for her students. She can often be found at the school well into the evening grading papers and preparing for the next day. She is liked and respected by the students and her colleagues and has served as a teacher mentor to some of our new teachers over the years.
