Vision Statement
The vision of the Rod Paige Middle School’s Counseling Department is that all stakeholders will work together collaboratively to achieve excellence in education by creating a positive and safe learning environment that helps students realize their individual excellence while empowering every student to reach their highest potential. Every student will acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to be successful in college and the workforce in order to pursue their goals and passions with character and authenticity and will ultimately become competent and productive members of our society.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Rod Paige Middle School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive, data-driven, and applicable school counseling program that addresses the academic, social/emotional, and college/career readiness needs of all students. The school counselor will work in collaboration with parents, teachers, administrators, and community members/stakeholders to create a positive and safe school culture that recognizes individual differences and learning styles, and that provides opportunities to develop students in becoming successful lifelong learners and productive citizens of our society.

The professional school counselor at Rod Paige Middle School believes that EVERY student:
* Has the ability to achieve and meet high standards that will foster college and career readiness
* Has dignity and worth
* Has the right to participate in a comprehensive school counseling program
* Has the right to a full time, state-certified, master's level, professional school counselor who collaborates with educators, families, and the community as an advocate for student success
And that the school counseling program at Rod Paige Middle School:
* Is comprehensive in scope
* Is proactive in design
* Is developmental in nature
* Is an integral part of the total education program for student success
* Is based on school data and driven by program development and evaluation, while being responsive to the specific individual and school needs
* Seeks assistance and input from its advisory council, school, and community members

* Advocate for each student and for the school counseling program
* Manage and evaluate their programs on a regular basis
* Abide by the professional school counseling ethics as advocated by the American School Counselor Association
* Participate in professional development activities essential to maintaining a quality school counseling program
